MURRIETA, CA — The new Costco warehouse store in Murrieta is still a week away from opening, but the retailer’s 32-pump gas station is set to welcome customers starting Friday.
“The full @costco opening will be next Friday, August 5, but they are opening their 32-pump gas station Friday, July 29!” the city of Murrieta posted to social media.
Costco’s new eight-lane gas station and warehouse store is located in The Vineyard complex at 35875 Warm Springs Parkway. The massive center off Clinton Keith Road and Interstate 215 includes several businesses that have already opened; a third construction phase will bring more in 2023, according to WestMar Commercial Real Estate, which is handling leases.
To promote the new Costco opening, popups have been placed around Murrieta where people can sign up to become store members and receive gift cards to use at the new location, according to the city.
While many residents are dreading the traffic increase that will come with the new Costco opening, others are looking forward to having the big-box retailer in Murrieta. Currently, the nearest Costco stores are in Lake Elsinore and Temecula.
