What is CTET Exam?
The Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) is an entrance examination conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) for candidates who wish to become teachers in primary and elementary schools affiliated to the CBSE.
Age criteria for CTET Exam
The minimum age limit for appearing in the CTET examination is 18 years. There is no upper age limit for appearing in the examination. The relaxation in the upper age limit shall be provided as per the Government norms. For candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PWD category, the upper age limit shall be relaxed by 5 years. For candidates who are serving in the armed forces of Union or other para-military forces, age relaxation of up to 3 years shall be provided.
Exam pattern of CTET Exam
The Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) is conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) for selection of teachers for Classes I to VIII. The test is held in two papers: Paper I is meant for a person who intends to be a teacher for Classes I to V and Paper II for a person who intends to be a teacher for Classes VI to VIII. A person who intends to be a teacher for both levels (Classes I to VIII) will have to take both the papers.
